But, men and women are different in many other aspects. They walk differently; they run differently, they speak differently; above all they think differently, they even eat differently. They have different levels of emotions, they are motivated by different factors and in many ways have different values.<\/span><\/p>\n Even when statements are voiced like, \u201cEverything what a man can do, even a woman can do.\u201d \u00ad like women can also work, practice masculine professions etc. All this is in order, but the fact remains that women and men have definite differences. Depending on how well informed we are and how well we accept these facts. To that extent it will be easier for us understand one another.<\/span><\/p>\n Modern wives want the word \u201cObey\u201d removed from the marriage vows. They feel it reduces them to the level of slaves. Even if there are different degrees of variation between men and women (Of course there are numerous exceptions), but in general the following aspects are usually the case:<\/span><\/p>\n Men are physically stronger than women.<\/span><\/p>\n Men are guided more by logic than women.<\/span><\/p>\n Women tend to rely more on their intuition and emotions.<\/span><\/p>\n Men are usually objective in their outlook; Women are usually subjective in their outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n Men are usually realistic, Women are usually idealistic.<\/span><\/p>\n Men are more self-assured; Women need more and continual assurance.<\/span><\/p>\n Men are more rigid in their thinking, Women on the other hand are more adaptable to changes and are therefore also easier to influence especially from other people. Their opinions are easier to influence.<\/span><\/p>\n Women are on the other hand more sympathetic than men. They have special interest in people as against men who tend to have more interest in things.<\/span><\/p>\n In the next two chapters we will examine what these differences are and what special needs they produce. We will see how these, God given differences fit together, so that each partner can help and support each other in a marriage. In this chapter we will limit ourselves only to why God created men and women with differences. The Question of, why these differences, is important for us today as it was for people all through the centuries, who pondered over it. It is of course even more of interest to couples that find their marriage in turmoil.<\/span><\/p>\n St. Paul in his book to the Ephesians broached the subject very directly. In three consecutive verses he said that the relationship between a man and a woman is similar to Jesus and his church. In Ephesians 5:23-25.<\/strong><\/span> Epheser<\/strong> 5:23-25,<\/strong><\/span> he says,<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFOR THE HUSBAND IS HEAD OF THE WIFE, AS ALSO CHRIST IS HEAD OF THE CHURCH, AND HE IS THE SAVIOR OF THE BODY. The Church was a present of God to the Son. And wedding was a portrayal between Jesus and His Church.<\/span><\/p>\n What is hotly debated and fiercely contested is the concept of Headship. Headship is however not synonymous with superiority. Nowhere does the Bible state that men are superior to women, neither is it assumed or implied. Neither does it mean domination or dictatorship. This headship concept does not destroy the woman’s personality or her will, nor does it reduce her to the level of a slave. Actually it does the opposite.<\/span><\/p>\n Our Mayors, Governors, Presidents need not necessarily be superior to us, but as the duly chosen leader they are vested with authority for the posts they occupy. They are not really happy in any other role. Some women because of selfishness or immaturity seek to dominate their husbands. It looks like this: she tries to dominate the husband and she is not happy with the results, so she tries a little more in the hope that more effort will make her happy, but it does not, so she tries a even more harder and every time happiness move just a little further beyond her grasp. Happiness always tends, to move just a little further and tends to tempt her with a beckoning wink as it were, the older she gets, the more she realized how much she has weakened the man she married and she hates herself for it.<\/span><\/p>\n If God has designed woman for a certain role, even if it is for a role of submission, He knew why. If she tries to rebel and act against her pre-designed role, it is just not going to work. The sooner she realizes this, the less strain she imposes on herself. The other side is equally true. If she falls in tune with God’s Plan the rewards of honor and happiness are showered on her both from God and from man. Ego is that something that makes her want to have things done differently.<\/span><\/p>\n It is to satisfy this ego, that produces the urge in her to nag, criticize, ridicule, put down or manipulate the husband. It seems almost uncontrollable. These are examples of the many different efforts where a woman expends so much precious energy. These are factors that keep her away from her God given role and consequently keep her in the vicious circle, we spoke about earlier. \u00adUnhappiness is the unfortunate, by-product, and the obstacle that stands between her and God’s savings grace is her ego. If she gives it up, things will work out better. God made man so that his wife can lean on him, but if she gnaws his heart and brains so much, that he is too weak to support her, and then she suffers for it.<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately, some men seem to shy away from their Leadership role. Maybe because of Lack of time, laziness, low value for their leadership role. They would rather be in the office late and when they come home they prefer not to be disturbed with domestic responsibilities. This outlook and behavior may drive the wife into a Leadership role but the result is chaotic. This course is contra to the value God intended for the husband or for the wife, so the results are friction, frustration, discontentment and discord.<\/span><\/p>\n Men, be leaders at home, take the initiative, make the decisions, train the children and lead the family prayers. By virtue of their God given role, men are to be the head of the family, this means also in the Prayer Life of the family. There should be participation and decision making when solving problems. When each partner displays a genuine love for the partner the chances of having irresolvable problems are less. In some areas there would still be some problems that are difficult to resolve, then the best way would be: The man leads (with love and the wife follows with love). That is Gods blueprint for a happy Christian marriage.<\/span><\/p>\n It is incorrect to consider women as a lesser person. It is however a far cry to follow the dangerous modern philosophy that tries to portray women as fully free from the responsibility of children, household, church and husband. A Woman fined true equality and freedom only when she follows her God given role as ‘helpmeet’. She should have trust and confidence in the husband God gave her, and in his headship. He would thus love her truly and protect her and provide for her needs.
