Like so many things in life, this Purpose was born out of strife. \u00a0\u2013 The strife of a broken marriage.<\/p>\n<p>I went through a marriage separation.\u00a0It was very hard, painful, bitter and everything that lies in the direction of down heartedness.\u00a0I write these pages because my heart goes out to people who are going through a similar crisis and who are struggling with the pressure, the pain and the despair that such situations bring.<\/p>\n<p>I remember, when I first said I would write a book, while we were still apart, Rose thought I would write a book on pneumatics or control engineering or some such thing.<br \/>\nPerhaps even write about travel to the other side of Pluto or some distant planet.\u00a0Those kinds of attempts could have merited, \u2018Good efforts to come around\u2019.<br \/>\nWhen I said, I would write a book on marriage, it seemed so un-imaginable, at first, she thought life was becoming too much for me.\u00a0Then when I mentioned my move towards \u2018Faith in God\u2019, it seemed to her like I was \u2018Going round the Bend\u2019, Later it seemed I had definitely become incorrigible.\u00a0It seemed almost outrageous for the pen to even meet the paper on a subject like God and marriage together.\u00a0Even worse, I was certainly not the person to even \u2018think\u2019 that I should write anything on this subject.<br \/>\nFurther more, I was totally unworthy.\u00a0 Of course I knew all along that I was not worthy.\u00a0But then, that was precisely why I wanted to study, how to become a good person.<\/p>\n<p>In my simple way, I confided to God, that my sins, shortfalls and failings are always present before me.\u00a0Some of them, I can, at least comprehend. Other failings I don\u2019t even know that they exist in me, because I cannot see my own faults as clearly as I can see the faults of others.\u00a0In frankness, I told God, I don\u2019t understand my confusions and why things are going from topsy-turvy to right out of hand. I told God, I don\u2019t know why all these things are taking place.\u00a0We are sorrow filled, but I will not waste my sorrow, If it is Your will, Dear God, that this experience will help others who are in a similar situation, help me to be your instrument to help others.\u00a0Please give meaning to our trials.\u00a0If it is in accordance with Your divine will, guide me how to write a book. I have never written a book before.<\/p>\n<p>Rose, in her own way had many struggles of a more pressing and realistic nature.\u00a0For one thing we were in business, and the business went through unbelievable financial havocs.\u00a0She took great care to look after our two wonderful children.\u00a0She managed the task heroically.\u00a0There are no words to do justice to her efforts, care and kindness to bring up the children and manage all other affairs.\u00a0She even learnt to read and write a local language, in order to help the children with their home work.<br \/>\nHer struggle was more real than real. We are all at this point of time because she made exemplary efforts.<\/p>\n<p>With a lot of feelings, I want to say, I know, at least to some extent, how one feels when they experience a marriage separation; I say this with a view to give strengths to couples whose marriage is under a strain.\u00a0I can say this because we went through this mill\u00a0<strong>and survived it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As our marriage broke down I was 39.<br \/>\nWe had two wonderful children.<br \/>\nOur daughter, Ramona was 5 and our son, Dominic was 3 1\/2.<\/p>\n<h5>THE SURPRISE<\/h5>\n<p>Never in all my life, had I thought that we would go through a marriage separation.\u00a0There are of course many reasons for this.\u00a0Perhaps the first reason was, that I was so certain that marriage separation could only happen to others.\u00a0Never in my wildest imagination did I think, it could happen to me.\u00a0Maybe many of us think the same way.<br \/>\nMaybe all the people who find themselves separated, thought it would never happen to them.\u00a0There is nothing wrong with this kind of thinking; it can be labeled as \u2018normal human optimism\u2019. We need it, otherwise we would never have been able to get married in the first place. This human optimism is necessary for every other decision we make in life.\u00a0Like so many things in life, some decisions backfire and marriage is no exception! The second very hard experience was the separation from the children.<\/p>\n<h5>THE MANIFESTATIONS<\/h5>\n<p>When a marriage breaks up there are always some bad manifestations. What I write here is not to point an accusing finger at anyone.\u00a0I would prefer to sweep it all under the rug.\u00a0I do this with only one reason and that is to point out what kind of\u00a0<strong>wiles<\/strong>\u00a0can swoop down on us in marriage.\u00a0These wiles make us enemies to our own near and dear ones.\u00a0It is not any person, but a dangerous wile to marital harmony.\u00a0This wile is an evil devil, which does not reveal itself directly, rather it directs attention to others. It is this evil, which I am trying to expose.\u00a0It is not, the \u2018Person\u2019 but the evil that somehow makes things go the wrong way and\u00a0<strong>it uses your people,<\/strong>\u00a0<em><strong>your<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<strong>near and dear to do its destructive work.\u00a0<\/strong>It uses the people who cherish you and whom you cherish.<\/p>\n<p>The spouse also has ample and real reasons to feel let down.\u00a0It is the evil wiles, which are trying to break up the divine institution of marriage and using the spouses as instruments against each other.\u00a0All too often we are dwelling on the manifestations and not seeing deeper into the causes.\u00a0Our normal education does not train us well enough.<\/p>\n<h5>SEE DEEPER INTO THE CAUSE<\/h5>\n<p>This book is designed to be an attempt, to see deeper into the cause. It is also an attempt to try and save marriage breakdowns through two factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Through faith in God<\/li>\n<li>Through changing our attitude. It is not through attempting to change the partner\u2019s attitude. It is through changing our own attitude.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>WHAT CAN HAPPEN<\/h5>\n<p>In the midst of all my personal turmoil, three friends of mine died in the course of the last one and a half year.<br \/>\nThe incidents are quite unrelated to my situation but I felt it all the same. In the quietness of my separation and solitude I silently recalled each one of them.<\/p>\n<p>The first was a poor man, who taught himself many handy men\u2019s skills and took up numerous jobs to make ends meet.<br \/>\nHe was about 30.<br \/>\nI knew him for approximately 6 years.<\/p>\n<p>The second was a highly intelligent person, rich and fun loving.<br \/>\nHe was brilliant and a winner of many scholastic challenges.<br \/>\nHe was also a researcher at one of the most prestigious institutions in the world.<br \/>\nOn an average the work of his research would reach the commercial market 7 years later.<br \/>\nHe was that far ahead.<br \/>\nHe died at the age of 43.<br \/>\nI knew him for 18 years.<br \/>\nI knew his family very well.<\/p>\n<p>The Third was a very rich businessman. His room was opposite mine in the hostel in Germany.<br \/>\nI have very rarely come across anyone who was more jovial and had a greater zest for life than him.<br \/>\nHe died at the age of 34.\u00a0 I knew him for 11 year.<\/p>\n<p>These friends of mine had families, they had children who were more or less the same age as our children.\u00a0I imagined the poor children having to live without a father for life.\u00a0All three friends had above average capabilities. In a way, I feel those children\u2019s fathers should not have died. I still feel the pain that the loved ones of these three friends will feel, for years, when they ask the question: WHY? WHY my father? WHY my husband? It is not easy for a person in solitude and separation not to feel the death of three friends.<\/p>\n<p>I have mentioned these three cases because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They were my friends.<\/li>\n<li>Their deaths should not be a waste.<\/li>\n<li>These deaths make us aware that it is time for us to re-think about some of our values.<\/li>\n<li>Life is brief and all things of this world are fleeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I must stress, that I have not cited these three cases because I wanted to weave a little story in this book.<br \/>\nThe sole purpose is\u00a0<strong>to<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>illustrate the harsh and irreversible reality<\/strong>\u00a0that a couple can suddenly find themselves in. In clear text, the harsh and irreversible reality can easily look like this: One Partner may die, the other may live the rest of his or her life in remorse and the poor children live all the disadvantages of being a half orphan and who knows, maybe even a full orphan.<\/p>\n<h5>STRESS EFFECT<\/h5>\n<p>It is a well-known fact that, the Stress Effects in a man will turn a man to drinks.\u00a0It is universal. Just like the Stress Effects in a woman, turns her to tears.\u00a0It is interesting to be aware that Stress affects the stomach in a man, whereas it affects the gall in a woman.\u00a0These are universal occurrences, so there is no great point on dwelling on the manifestations, as a topic of gossip or discussion, for example, to say, \u201cHe drinks\u201d or, \u201cShe cries.\u201d, but rather to try and do something about the cause.\u00a0We have to understand that these people are showing signs, which are typical of the way their stress mechanism reacts to stimuli.\u00a0<strong>We have to be clear that both parties suffer very much.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0It is not as though one is gleefully enjoying the situation.<\/p>\n<h5>WHAT TO DO?<\/h5>\n<p>To keep things in the state of marriage separation only makes losers. The husband, the wife, and the children will all turn out to be losers? What to do then? \u00ad<strong>Forgiveness is the only solution.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>AND IN ORDER TO MAKE FORGIVENESS POSSIBLE, WE NEED GOD\u2019S HELP.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am not saying that, we need \u201cGod\u2019s help\u201d as a figure of speech.\u00a0I am a technical person, not a priest, and yet, I can say that I am convinced that we can only win, with God\u2019s help. It may sound unusual, but this was not like I always proclaimed. My upbringing is Catholic, So, I know that God is all- powerful.<br \/>\nIn my every day practice, however, I responded differently.\u00a0 My response was to be \u2018Self Reliant\u2019; I also explored the ways of the world before I came to this inference.<br \/>\nMind you, we are both practicing Catholics and we have always tried to be faithful to God. Yet in spite of this, in the area of marital conflicts, we did not have the\u00a0<strong>\u2018Spiritual Reflexes\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0to consider asking God to help us.\u00a0We somehow searched to find solutions in the creatures of the world rather than in the creator Himself.\u00a0That is how we stumbled from one blunder to another without any success. For example, in our search for an answer to our sagging marriage we turned to various avenues like: \u2013<\/p>\n<p>We turn to our own logic, to relatives, to friends, to priests, to nuns, to doctors of different specialties, to psychiatrists, to marriage counselors, to fortune-tellers.<\/p>\n<p>We searched every possible avenue that this world had to offer. Every avenue was explored with meticulous thoroughness as though it was a technical problem.<br \/>\nThe same drive that makes certain people pursue technical activities is the drive that drove me to solve this problem. We covered the specialties of this diverse pallet of professions, not once but with duplicate and triplicate set of people in each of these occupations.<\/p>\n<p>I must mention that as a person who has great respect to the world of science AND as a Roman Catholic I always Scoffed at things like Fortune-telling, Astrology, Palmistry.\u00a0Etc. It was preposterous and loathsome even to think of such irreligious and unscientific methods. However, It was in sheer desperation after nine frustrating years of searching, I fell for a very cunning suggestion \u00ad it had the devil\u2019s cunning in its arguments, which worked upon my fundamental thinking.<\/p>\n<p>The reason why I cite this point is because I want to expose how vulnerable we can become under prolonged trials.\u00a0 Prolonged trial can wear a person down.\u00a0The backdrop is that I am and have always been an active Catholic by my own convictions. I lived many years away from home in different countries.\u00a0God was always there for me.\u00a0My religion was an impregnable fortress around me.\u00a0Fortune Telling was wrong in my mind.\u00a0 Even though I did not know how or why fortune telling was wrong.<br \/>\nI have spent years studying technology, so my thinking is tuned to calculations and other methods of deriving solutions, not hocus-pocus rubbish.This is how the evil worked.<\/p>\n<p>For the sake of these people\u2019s privacy, I am not going to mention names.\u00a0I will call one person \u2018The person I look up to\u2019 and the other person \u2018The friend\u2019.\u00a0The person I look up to, walked back together from a church meeting with \u2018The friend\u2019.\u00a0The friend of the person whom I look up to said, \u201cGreg has tried every thing, has he tried meeting Mr.\u00a0 \u2014\u2014\u2013?.\u201d\u00a0So the person who I look up to said, \u201cNo.\u00a0 Who is this Mr.\u2026?.\u201dThe friend said, \u201cI have heard that he can tell you why this unfortunate thing is happening in Greg\u2019s life.\u201d The friend even suggested, \u201cFind out what is wrong.\u201d; \u201cGive it a Shot.\u201d; \u201cThere is nothing to lose.\u201d; \u201cGod helps those who help themselves.\u201d; \u201cIf he is feeling guilty, he can always go to confession.\u201d To reinforce the credentials, the friend said, she heard that priest and nuns occasionally visit Mr.\u00a0 \u2026..\u00a0 The friend who made the suggestion was totally misled by hearsay and lies.\u00a0The whole conversation was gossip in a package of lies, one on top of the other.\u00a0Here was a situation, the person who I looked up to, goes to church to pray.\u00a0Right out of the church and all the way home, this otherwise religiously inclined friend becomes a victim, not of stupidity but of cunning.<br \/>\nThis person was used to reach a credit worthy person, and make that person also a victim in order to be the mouthpiece the devil\u2019s diabolic strategy.<\/p>\n<p>One day at an opportune moment, after a frustrating battle, my \u2018person of worth\u2019, mentioned this Mr.\u00a0 \u2026.to me.\u00a0Up to this point of time, I had tried every thing.\u00a0Everything failed, now was the \u2018opportune time\u2019 to plant suggestions.\u00a0The frustrated mind will consider things, it may have vehemently rejected before.\u00a0As a practicing Catholic in desperate search for Answers and Solutions, I went to church and prayed to God.\u00a0I also told God, \u201cI do not feel this suggestion is correct; Somehow, I feel this goes against the grain, please help me.\u00a0Give me a sign.\u00a0If you don\u2019t want me to go, please don\u2019t let my scooter start.\u201d\u00a0At the parking lot, my vehicle started without any hesitation what so ever. In fact it seems so eager to roar into life. \u00a0I took it as God\u2019s encouragement.\u00a0So, I took it to be the will of God, even though I would have scoffed at the idea at any other time.\u00a0This is an example not of gullibility but of desperation to find a solution.\u00a0This is an example of how fragile we can get.<\/p>\n<p>Up to the time, before we went to the Fortune Teller, we had a disturbed marriage, but there was no separation.\u00a0It was only after this consultation that our separation took place with directives of unexplainable heartlessness.\u00a0Believe me, after that, we had a lot of trouble like nothing that we knew of before. I knew something was going drastically wrong and I even knew it was directly due to the consultation with this Fortune-Teller, yet I could not explain what happened in a religious way to myself.<\/p>\n<p>I have always been practicing Roman Catholic but I did not have any knowledge on this area of consulting a fortuneteller and why it was a SIN.\u00a0So I asked God for His forgiveness and I requested Him to enlighten me as to how I had gone against His teachings.\u00a0God was faithful.\u00a0He provided me with the answer through the words of a religious person. This person explained to me that by doing so, I HAD BROKEN THE FIRST COMMANDMENT.\u00a0And then, in one instance, it was clear to me how I fell into this sin. It is because of this con-artistry that happened in my life, I am writing about a disastrous pit fall that can come upon people. In clear text, consultation with a fortune-teller, palmist, and astrologer of any kind is SIN.\u00a0There are many cultures that have such practices but as a Christian we cannot seek fortune-telling consultation.\u00a0Fortune Telling is forbidden.\u00a0For a Christian this is a grievous SIN.<\/p>\n<p>After we discovered this truth, we were all very sorry what happened, especially the friend who brought the suggestion in the first place. I know both people for years. There is no shadow of doubt in the truthfulness and integrity of either person. Both are devote Catholics.\u00a0From my side I know neither is capable of any bad intentions towards my family or me. I know, they were just a helpless victim of destructive cunning forces who used them to get me to seek answers and thereby break the\u00a0<strong>First Commandment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What was worse was the fact that I told my wife, we have found the solution to our problems.\u00a0Why don\u2019t you see him?\u00a0 It is because of my sin and because of my double sin, I am exposing this incident with religious determination, so that others may not fall into this sin.\u00a0 And I am exposing it as my act of reparation for my sins.\u00a0Rose was against me mentioning this point in this book, because it seems like a family folly.\u00a0She thinks for family sake it may be best forgotten and never mentioned.\u00a0I cannot let other practicing Christians fall.\u00a0Now that, I know why and how, I fell.\u00a0I fell because I never heard a good enough explanation.\u00a0 Some topics are taboo to be even talked about.\u00a0So like me, other people too may have never got a proper explanation as to why fortune telling is a sin.\u00a0Now that I know the explanation, I am duty bound to proclaim this explanation, regardless of whether people think I am a fool or not.<\/p>\n<h5>WHY IS CONSULTATION WITH A FORTUNE TELLER A SIN?<\/h5>\n<p>Maybe you are wondering how and why fortune telling is a sin? It is a sin because consultation with an authentic Fortune-Teller, Astrologer, and Palmist is a\u00a0<strong>contract<\/strong>with the devil.\u00a0Even though, you do not know the ramifications, and maybe, you are a person innocently seeking to find out why things are going wrong in your life and are anxious about the future, this ignorance does not reduce vulnerability. Ignorance can reduce guilt but it is no shield against exposure or vulnerability. The fortune- teller, however, in order to get the power and abilities of divination, has made a contract with the devil.\u00a0It is these diabolically assisted favors and services that you are seeking, so that is how you automatically become an accomplice to the contract participation. Besides sinning, you run the risk that some diabolic possession will attach them to you.\u00a0 THIS IS A WARNING.<br \/>\nIf you have ever (or if your spouse, children or parents) have ever visited a fortune-teller, Repent and ask God\u2019s Forgiveness.\u00a0Do not be fooled by excuses like, The fortune-teller is just pretending to have ability, or, He is just \u2018a fake\u2019 or, we are just consulting for fun, First of all, you do not know whether he is a fake for sure or whether he has some contract with the devil or spirits.\u00a0Secondly your move to seek help through these means regardless of its authenticity or not, it is a direct rejection to trust in God. \u00ad you are indirectly saying to God, \u201cI will seek help elsewhere.\u201d And that is Sin.\u00a0Sin is a rejection of God.\u00a0Once I became aware of this Sin, I asked God for His pardon and turned fully over to Him.\u00a0This book is an indication of why I say; we need God\u2019s help,<\/p>\n<p>I want you to know, I was the most unlikely candidate for such a deception such as a fortune- teller consultation.\u00a0And yet it got to me. It is the same cunningness that made Eve and Adam fall.\u00a0Adam and Eve knew God. God walked with them in the cool of the day.\u00a0<strong>(Genesis 3:8)<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>(1 Mose 3:8)<\/strong>\u00a0Right from that time, the devil\u2019s designs are to destroy what God has made in His own image and likeness \u2013 Mankind. The reason why marriage is particularly vulnerable is because in Man and Woman God bestowed the gift of being a pro-creators. Neither the Angels nor the Fallen Angles have this God given gift.\u00a0We do not know what exactly happened in heaven and what was the cause of the rebellion and consequently the creation of hell.\u00a0We are told it was PRIDE. Maybe it was hurt pride that the angel were not given the ability to pro-create and mankind was given the ability bear children in the image and likeness of God.\u00a0God allowed some of His \u201cCreatorship\u201d to be given to man.\u00a0We cannot substantiate it as the \u2018reason\u2019, it is cited to explain the devil\u2019s consistent grudge with God and relentless enmity with man.<\/p>\n<p>Even though I had the explanations, one question kept bugging me.\u00a0And I kept bugging the Lord.How did all this happen to me?<\/p>\n<p>The fortune teller was originally a Christian.\u00a0He knew scripture to be so deceptively convincing and yet diabolically hook people to come to seek his services again and again in order to find relief to their problems.\u00a0It would become a spiraling price and then a free fall to hell.\u00a0Maybe he did it to augment his income; Maybe he did it to have \u2018Fools Fun\u2019. \u00a0I don\u2019t know and I do not want to either judge him or his motives.\u00a0It also became clear to me why I could fall.\u00a0Had the fortune- teller worn funny clothes or lived in unfamiliar areas, I would have been on \u2018High Alert\u2019.\u00a0Here was a man who knew exactly how to skillfully use scripture even better than many Christians knew scripture themselves.\u00a0He dressed normal. \u00a0Spoke very well.\u00a0India has an extremely wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, languages and religions. He knew and lived \u2018our\u2019 way of life.\u00a0For years and years, I asked the Lord, \u201cAm I such a gullible idiot?\u00a0 How come You did nothing, when I sought Your advice and a sign from You whether it was OK to go to him? Lord in the simplicity of my faith, I asked if this is not Your will, Please prevent my vehicle from starting.\u00a0Why did You not stop the vehicle from starting. I would have been convinced that You did not approve and would have gone to the mechanic instead.\u00a0Why did you let me fall?\u201d Now here in 2004, was the answer.\u00a0I was to write about this deception so that others do not fall.<\/p>\n<p>I also write this point because for many years, I had reason to work professionally with foreign experts who visited India. By various sources, these people came fully armed with the names and contact information of similar fortune tellers. These people were technically so advanced to be experts and yet they sought the consultation with these fortune tellers. In clear text, they should never have done this. I did not have sufficient knowledge to convince them WHY this is wrong.<\/p>\n<p>TAKE COURAGE, In case you are experiencing a marriage separation and you find it too difficult to bear, take courage from the fact that we went through a similar thing<strong>and have survived<\/strong>.\u00a0This book is a testimony to the effect.\u00a0Language and writing is not my profession, and yet, I went on to write this book.<\/p>\n<p>You may be surprised to read that the original draft of this book was written in German.\u00a0At the time when the draft was being made, a few friends knew about this book.\u00a0They were all surprised that I as an Indian would resort to word sketching the text in German.<\/p>\n<p>I also cannot say exactly why I choose to use German instead of English. Maybe, in a nostalgic sense, I relate Germany to, \u2018The Land of the Thinkers\u2019 \u00ad to the land of Gauss, Keplar, Lebinez, Roentgen, Max Plank, Arthur Stiefelmayer, Hans Klingler, Dr.\u00a0Kurt Stoll, Dr Wilfred Stoll, Dr. Werner von Braun, Dr. Friedrich Wankel, , Professor Dr.\u00a0Bharat Balasubramaniam, Albert Einstein.\u00a0 .\u00a0 .\u00a0 .<br \/>\nWhatever be the reasons, this was my way to do something positive and constructive while the pressures of marriage separation were running wild and tearing our hearts away.\u00a0Threatening to make our children single parented.\u00a0It was only the thought that God is in full control over every thing that happens on earth (and not man), and that nothing happens without His knowledge or sanction, knowing this point kept my head and body together during those difficult days.\u00a0In some very endearing way, the German language resembled the kind voice of a highly gifted and excellent teacher.\u00a0The Germans and their language has never seized to impress me with its heart warming, picturesque capabilities and un-canning precision.<\/p>\n<p>In the Epilog I have stated the reasons why I changed this book from German to English.\u00a0With time, I have resolved that I must write two more books before I am ready to lay the pen down or let the computer keyboard retire. I am not sure I will still have the time to bring this book back into German. Besides straight writing time, is also the fact that German grammar is much more demanding than English grammar is. It will be very necessary to have corrections made, and proof reading of a much more intense nature.<\/p>\n<p>During those difficult days, I came across a member of the Catholic Charismatic Movement; he prayed for me and helped me to see things from a more divine perspective.<br \/>\nHe introduced me to God all over again.\u00a0He explained to me that God speaks to His people though scripture found in the Holy Bible.\u00a0 I know the modesty of this man so I will not refer to him by name, I will simply call him the Navy Officer.\u00a0He is possibly India\u2019s best lay preacher.\u00a0He preaches in a number of countries all around the world.<br \/>\nDuring that time I read the following passage in the Bible, it gave me a lot of meaning and strength. I thought I\u2019d share it with you:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>\u201cWE ARE HARD PRESSED EVERY SIDE, YET NOT CRUSHED; WE ARE PERPLEXED, BUT NOT IN DESPAIR, PERSECUTED, BUT NOT FORSAKEN; STRUCK DOWN,\u00a0BUT NOT DESTROYED.\u201d \u00a02 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>8 \u201eVon allen Seiten werden wir in die Enge getrieben und finden doch noch Raum; wir wissen weder aus noch ein und verzweifeln dennoch nicht;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>9 wir werden gehetzt und sind doch nicht verlassen; wir werden niedergestreckt und doch nicht vernichtet.\u201c\u00a0 2 Korinther 4:8-9<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h5>THINK POSITIVE \u00ad DO SOMETHING<\/h5>\n<p>I was very clear about one thing and that was\u00a0<strong>I was not going to allow this heart shaking sorrow to get wasted.\u00a0I was determine to do something to help somebody<\/strong>, so armed with the encouragement from two friends and a few scraps of paper, I went out to establish a perspective in the form of reasons to write this book.<br \/>\nHere are some of the thoughts that went through my mind:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Writing a book would give me a reason to read topics on marriage more carefully. \u00a0Maybe through this scrutiny I would find clues or some positive steps towards understanding my marriage and how to repair it.Writing on the subject would be one of the motivations to turn casual reading into knowledge acquisition.<\/li>\n<li>It is a universally accepted fact that a person matures and becomes better only in the face of the adversities. I did not want to either squander this opportunity or let the hard won didactics fade into obscurity as time glided by.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>I wanted to place a concrete experience of life\u2019s problems, in front of our children.\u00a0They must know, on this pilgrimage of life, there are bound to be problems and sufferings of one kind or another.\u00a0Our life\u2019s merits are how well we cope up with them.\u00a0In order to combat these types of problems, we need a disposition, \u00ad a proper disposition otherwise life will turn, into one long string of self-pity, grumbling, grousing etc.\u00a0All of which are all wasted energies.\u00a0In the so-called ways of the world, disposition can be shallow and misleading.\u00a0So my efforts were to construct an eternal perspective through the pages of this book.\u00a0It was to become a method, to study the perspective of life and marriage-relationship.\u00a0This book is oriented pre-dominantly on quotations, teaching and citations found in the Holy Bible. I have found this wisdom to be genuine and solid. (Like I mentioned earlier I tried many other avenues before coming to this conclusion).<\/p>\n<h5>I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS MY THANKS TO:<\/h5>\n<ol>\n<li>First and above all, I want to do this book as a Thanks and Praise to God for having protected us and for guiding each one of us through the storms of life. \u00a0Even for giving us the courage to go on when things didn\u2019t feel nice at all.\u00a0Some where during our conflict, when hates were running high, I asked God to help me to see things from His perspective \u00ad to help me to feel things the way He wants me to feel about these kinds of things. \u00ad To help me to stand above these annoyances.\u00a0In some silent way God answered. Peace was so gradual, I never knew when my view became more tolerable.\u00a0Somewhere along the line, \u2018Eternity\u2019 came into my mind as a kind of a yardstick or as a focus point. If we look at things with reference to our eternal life, then we see how silly we are to spend our time fighting with our wife, husband, mother- in- law etc.\u00a0And even the things of this Earth how long will we have them \u00ad our wealth, our children, our youth, our fame, our precious Ego? We are going to leave them all behind when we die.\u00a0So why fight about them?<br \/>\nThere is only one thing that is important, and that is how well we have done God\u2019s Work in the plan, He has for us.<\/li>\n<li>This book is a gift from my heart to my wife Rose and our children Ramona and Dominic, who undoubtedly had their own share of suffering during our separation. \u00a0I also thank them for the many efforts they made which encouraged me to try to win this marriage.<\/li>\n<li>The prayers and wishes of My Dad and Mum as well Rose\u2019s Mum (and Rose\u2019s Dad who is already in Heaven).<\/li>\n<li>Many relatives and friends were extremely good to us; we cannot repay them for their kindness and encouragement. \u00a0This book is the embodiment of our recognition for their efforts and extraordinary kindness.\u00a0I cannot tell you exactly how many people gave me books to read as their way of being helpful to me.\u00a0This book is my acknowledgement and thanks for their gift of books, meals and hospitality to me.<\/li>\n<li>There are many people whose efforts have helped us, and who are not mentioned here in this book, by name. \u00a0I felt that I cannot mention every one by name because I can easily forget to mention every kind person.\u00a0Nor can I bring out their goodness adequately.\u00a0So I have simply referred to them as \u201ca friend\u201d; \u201cA neighbour\u201d; \u201cA lady\u201d etc.\u00a0Their kindness however is just as important and I am thankful to them.<\/li>\n<li>This may sound a little strange nevertheless I must say it, because it comes straight from the heart. These pages are recognition and a Huge Thank you to ESSLINGEN. Esslingen is a small Dream Town situated in Southern Germany. Esslingen is in a hilly region with a river running right through the town.The river is called, NECKAR.\u00a0Affectionately the town is called \u201cEsslingen Am Neckar\u201d, which means \u201cEsslingen on the Necker.\u201d On one side of the Neckar, Esslingen rises over the B 10 Fast Road, then over towards a birch-wood forest and thereafter rolls over hills and dales stretching to embrace the Schwabish Alps.\u00a0On the other side of the Neckar, Esslingen rises toward the vineyards, sloping upwards.\u00a0The very exclusive pink FIFEGRADLER wine grows here.\u00a0It is the winery of the sparkling KESSLER and the deep red TROLLINGER.\u00a0If your eyes keep moving upwards past the vineyards you see Heaven.
